SAFETY AND MATERIALS

Safety is the most important thing to us here at Creature Feature Toys, especially when the body's most sensitive areas are involved! Our toys are created and make contact with only safe materials throughout the entire process. We ONLY use materials with research supporting its safety.

The adult toy industry is unregulated, so safety is extremely important to us - aside from wanting to make cool monster dongs, this was the main reason for starting CFT! Many materials are not created or tested with use as an adult toy in mind, so we spend a lot of time carefully researching each material that goes into the process.

▼ Our Materials ▼
▸ Non-sulfurous, non-toxic polymer clay for our original hand sculpted master models
▸ 100% Platinum Cure Silicone from Smooth-On that is skin safe, non-porous, and easy to clean for casting and pouring toys with no questionable additives
▸ Mann's Ease Release 200, a removable polymer release agent for demolding
▸ SmoothCast non-leeching resin, and mineral spirits for master copies. While the resin is safe once cured, the molds used to create the resin masters are not reused for toys
▸ Water-based polyurethane to give masters a smooth, even finish
▸
FDA approved cosmetic grade mica pigments that are vegan and ethically sourced and safe for eye, lip, and skin exposure — the safest cosmetic rating the FDA gives for pigments
▸Certified skin safe Silc Pig Electric Fluorescent Silicone Pigments for our UV colors
▸Photoluminescent Pigment, Non-toxic, non-radioactive pigments for for Glow in the Dark, rated for use in silicone applications
▸In rare cases, Sil-Poxy from Smooth-On is used to repair minor flops on the base of toys. We will always disclose when this is used. Sil-Poxy is a silicone adhesive that is certified skin safe
▸ Latex-free powder-free gloves are worn for the entire process
▸ Toys are washed in a non-scented antibacterial soap before being bagged and shipped

▼ Hand Painted Toys ▼
We love to hand paint designs on toys, and have done several material & durability tests.

Hand painted designs use the same firmnesses of high quality platinum cure silicone and materials as the rest of our toys, and details are only painted within the mold prior to pouring under the silicone's pot life. This ensures that the painted areas bond with the rest of the toy as its curing for the strongest possible bond.

Please Note: Hand painted toys are inspected closely and stress tested before shipping. However, due to the nature of our process with using mold release, in rare occasions it may be possible for some details to delaminate over time, though we have not yet seen this happen to our products after 1+ years of tests. Please reach out to us if this happens to your toy so we can help!

▼ Our Stance on Mica ▼
Cosmetic mica is mined from a naturally occurring mineral and processed to add color, and can often come from countries that utilize unethical labor from children or potentially slave labor.

We ONLY use mica from professional and trustworthy ethical sources.

We take care to research who we buy from and strive to ensure that their product is professionally, ethically sourced. Our main sources are Just Pigments and TKB Trading.

Due to how natural mica is processed, certain colors are not contact safe for all areas of the body according to FDA regulation. Depending on additives used during the process, synthetic mica can sometimes share this issue.

We NEVER use mica (or any pigment) that has any cosmetic restrictions or isn't safe. We follow the FDA list of approved materials for cosmetic use
As the toy comes into contact with mucous membranes, it is important to us that the colors we use are certified in the US to be eye, lip, and skin safe for worry-free play.

Additionally, some colors on the market may not be vegan friendly due to the natural color's source. We ONLY use vegan friendly colors.

For color blends that are often unsafe (such as many greens and blues) we instead use a mixture of only approved pigments to achieve desired results.
